“I don’t like Magicians” Having approached a table this would often be something I heard, I quickly realised that was usually based on one of two things-

  1. A bad experience with a magician in the past

  2. A perception of magic based on images of top hats, clowns and a trope of “let me prove I’m smarter than you because I can do tricks”

    After persuading these guests to let me spend a few minutes with them their perception would flip on it’s head, they would say things like “Oh my… I had no idea magic was so fun!” “How on Earth!?!” “Wait, what you are doing isn’t anything like the magician I met before.” I wanted to change the public perception of magic- to make more people excited when they first see a magician or a mentalist approach them-rather than after being convinced.

    So I decided to build a team. Maverick Magicians was born-an agency of modern Magicians and Mentalist’s dedicated to providing exceptional entertainment for venues across the UK and events worldwide. Each act was personally chosen by me for their unique style, stepping away from the norm- “Mavericks” in their field.
